Company Profile

RBT Bank, formerly the Rural Bank of Talisayan, was established on March 10, 1966, with a modest capital of P200,000 by the Beltran, Alcid, and Seriña families led by Col. Alejandro G. Beltran Sr. Initially focused on agricultural lending, the bank ventured into microfinance in 1998, extending loans particularly to women entrepreneurs in partnership with PCFC, adopting the Grameen banking model. Over time, it expanded its services to include loans, savings, money transfers via Western Union, and micro-insurance through its licensed affiliate. The bank's development progressed through various stages: sustaining operations from 1966 to 1975 amid challenging conditions; surviving the politically and economically turbulent Martial Law era (1976-1985); innovating and growing assets in the late 1980s and early 1990s; expanding operations and branches in Misamis Oriental from 1996 to 2005; and embracing modern management and technology to compete in a global market from 2006 to 2015. Today, RBT Bank covers multiple provinces and aims to add value to stakeholders and support community socio-economic development.
